Belgian artist Rene Magritte
created much of his famous surreal art in the 1920's. As a student
at the Brussels Acadamy of Fine Arts, he studied cubist art as
well as traditional art. Magritte worked for awhile as a commercial
artist, but devoted most of his professional career to surrealism,
including well known surrealistic works such as "The Son
of Man" and "Golconde."
