American artist Edward Hopper
captured the realism of American life in the early and mid 20th
century. He loved sailing and the sea which he captured in his
painting, "Lighthouse at Two Lights.", "Ground
Swell" and "Rooms By The Sea." His most enduring
image, however, is "Nighthawks," a diner scene that
has been spoofed by many later artists, including cartoonists.
